Biden is moving to create a “Disinformation Governance Board.” What do you think about this development?

President Joe Biden has announced the creation of a new governance board for the purpose of fighting disinformation ahead of the November midterms:

• Is it proper (in accord with your understanding of the American form of Democracy) for the government to institute such a board?
• What do you think of the fact that the board is described as having a role particularly geared towards a specified racial minority – do you consider this to be appropriate / inappropriate?
• What is your opinion on the appointment of Nina Jankowicz (vis a vis her statements on previous public controversies as described in the article).
• Is it too dangerous for a society to allow a certain amount of mis- or dis-information to proliferate for the sake of free inquiry and the freedom of expression? Or should the bounds of conversation a society is allowed to discuss be limited by the United States government?
