Two examples of how this may come about (by no means exhaustive, just meant to give you an idea of what I’m thinking):
A post-scarcity society united by a common government and set of ideals that no longer meaningfully vary across human societies; i.e. a “one-world government”
A stable geopolitical scenario where individual nation-states persist with their own governments and systems, but where borders are either nonexistent or irrelevant.
Yes I know these require some… “optimistic” thinking about humanity’s future, but regardless of how we would get there, whether it would be for good or ill, do you believe there will come a time when humanity transcends the practical need for national borders?
